EBZEF Non-affiliation Policy Statement

The Elizabeth Bowers Zambia Education Fund (EBZEF) of Salem, Oregon, and Lumwana West, Zambia, is not affiliated with nor under the jurisdiction of any political or religious organization or group. EBZEF may, however, partner with political or religious organizations for the sole purpose of furthering EBZEF’s mission and goals where appropriate. These partnerships do not imply any political belief or religious commitment on the part of EBZEF, its board members, volunteers, contractors or scholarship recipients.

    International Peace Scholarship awarded to Beth’s Girl Mary Lundeba for PhD work in Fisheries Science at Penn State University.

    Education, volunteer support for sales and community events.
  • South Salem High School Zambia Club—2007-ongoing
    Education, support fundraisers for EBZEF.
  • Adam Stephens Middle School ESL class—2008-2013
    Education, fund-raising for EBZEF, and correspding with Beth's Girls.

    Education, volunteer support for sales and community events, Penny Drives for pre-school furniture and supplies.

Special Projects

  • Tamara Weiss—2012
    Early Childhood Development Specialist from the University of Minnesota. Helped to establish a pre-school curriculum for Lumwana West.

  • Curriculum developed by Jeanette Teta for English Language Development students at Adam Stephens Middle School.
